Who is this training for?

This training is designed for Master's level counselling students, therapists, and clinicians working with individual adults, children, youth, parents, and families who want to deepen experiential and relational practice. Very diverse applications.
Do I need prior Sand Tray training? NO

No prior Sand Tray training required, this course is designed for those new to the Sand Tray and those returning from our prior trainings.
Is this course theoretical or practical? YES

We have integrated both theory and hands-on practice, combining trauma-informed, neurobiological, and relational frameworks with experiential Sand Tray activities, case conceptualization, and real-world clinical application.
Will we learn how to involve parents in therapy?

Yes. A strong focus of this training is supporting therapists to work effectively with parents and caregivers as key partners in change, using psychoeducation, relational frameworks, and nervous system-informed approaches.
What theoretical approaches inform this course?

The course integrates attachment theory, developmental neuroscience, trauma-informed practice, relational therapy, and polyvagal-informed perspectives applied through experiential processes embedded in your theoretical orientation of choice.
How is the virtual day structured?

The virtual day takes place on Zoom and includes teaching, demonstrations, experiential practice, and breakout rooms for small group practice and discussion.

This one-day virtual training provides experiential and ethical guidance for adapting Sand Tray Therapy to virtual practice, with practical implementation, client safety, ethics in BC, and the responsible integration of digital tools and AI in therapy.
What practical skills will I gain from this training?

Participants leave with practical tools for:
supporting regulation and emotional safety
working relationally with adults, children, youth, and families
integrating Sand Tray into treatment planning, assessment, implementation, integration, and anchoring.

Is space limited?

Yes. A smaller cohort supports an in-depth experiential learning environment. Previous courses have sold out and a waitlist will be used once capacity is reached.
